Continuous Open Airway Therapy

COAT

Continuous Open Airway Therapy (COAT) represents a simple and effective solution for patients with obstructive sleep apnea or closed airways. It is ideal for those with mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea or for those who do not respond well to CPAP therapy.

Proven comfort and improved sleep

SomnoDent oral devices, prescribed by a doctor and fitted by a dental professional, are approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Nine out of ten patients confirm the comfort of the device and improved sleep, which is also confirmed by their partners!

Continuous Open Airway Therapy (COAT)

How COAT® Therapy Works

While we sleep, gravity and muscle relaxation can cause the tongue and surrounding soft tissue to fall back into the throat, disrupting airflow and blocking the airways. This can cause breathing interruptions hundreds of times during the night, reducing oxygen levels in the blood and straining the heart.

COAT® devices move the jaw forward, keeping the airways open, thereby reducing the risk of breathing interruptions.

Effectiveness

These appliances are proven to be effective in improving OSA in most patients, including those with severe cases.

Comfort and Adaptability

Oral appliances are well tolerated by patients, with minimal long-term dental changes that do not hinder continued use.

Therapy Adherence

Patients often prefer COAT over CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) due to greater comfort and easier adaptation, resulting in higher therapy compliance.

Technological Advances

Advanced technologies such as remotely controlled mandibular adjusters and objective adherence monitoring using temperature sensors significantly enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of COAT.
